Puri-Howrah: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that the operation of Vande Bharat trains is providing convenient travel to railway passengers across the country and now on the same lines, people around cities and metros will be provided with 'Vande Metro' from March next year.
There are plans to run Vande Metro in Puri-Cuttack and Bhubaneswar in next January-February
Vaishnaw while talking to reporters while traveling in the Vande Bharat train that started from Puri to Howrah said that Vande Metro service will be made available to people living within 100 km radius in cities and metros. He said that continuous work is going on to provide Vande Metro service and this facility will be started by March next year.
When asked about the network of Vande Bharat trains, the Railway Minister said that there is a huge demand for Vande Bharat trains across the country and the government's effort is to equip every state with this facility. He said that by June, Vande Bharat Rail facility will be available in almost all the states of the country.
Vaishnaw also informed that second Vande Bharat will run in Bhubaneswar and it will connect Puri-Bhubaneswar-Cuttack and Rourkela-Sambalpur-Jharsuguga-Angul-Talcher.
Sleeper coaches will be installed
Vaishnav said on the question of installing sleeper coaches in 'Vande Bharat trains' that work is going on fast in this direction. He said that after installing sleepers, naturally the design inside the train will also change.
He said that the construction work of 400 Vande Bharat trains is going on fast and this work is going on continuously in various rail coach factories. The Railway Minister said that due to Vande Bharat trains, 30 to 40 percent time will be saved on every route.
