Will Victory In Karnataka Give A Boost To Opposition Unity Efforts And Will Congress's Claim To Lead Opposition Alliance Be Strengthened?

Bengaluru: By demolishing the fort of BJP in Karnataka, which is known as the gate of South India, Congress has definitely come in a strong position. After a long time, Congress has won in a big state.

After this victory, the morale of the Congress will definitely get a boost. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party at the Center is very strong politically and there have been voices of uniting the opposition to take on the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Now elections are to be held in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In all these three states there is a contest between BJP and Congress. If the performance of Congress is good in these states also, then it will strengthen the Congress.

Clear shape to Opposition alliance not given

There is talk of opposition unity again and again, but there remains a doubt about who will be the face of the opposition in front of a powerful leader like BJP's Narendra Modi. Efforts are being made to form an opposition alliance at the national level, but it has not yet been given a clear shape.

Political analysts believe that the Congress's win will inject a fresh enthusiasm and vigour not only into Congress but many other opposition parties and they will be now more motivated to come togrther.

'Karnataka result a stamp on Nitish's unity efforts'

JDU leader Bashistha Narain Singh has said that this election result will give more strength to the opposition unity campaign started by Nitish Kumar. He said it would not be wrong to say that this election result is a stamp on that campaign as well.

Singh said the Karnataka election result has given a clear message that the country cannot be run on the basis of religious fervour and emotional issues. This country is very big. The biggest issue here is the needs of the common man and the challenges facing his life. The people of Karnataka have given a clear signal that the way the government is being run in the country today, it is not acceptable to the country, Singh said.

'Result will become a turning point for Cong, other opposition parties'

Assam-based All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has said that the result of the Karnataka assembly elections will become a turning point for the Congress party and other opposition parties ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, after the Congress registered a clear victory in the Karnataka assembly elections. .

Rafiqul Islam of AUIDF said that a delegation of his party led by party supremo Badruddin Ajmal met NCP chief Sharad Pawar . He said the AIUDF delegation had met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav on Friday. During this he talked about the unity of the opposition.

'Cong's claim to lead Opposition coalition will be strong'

Analysts believe that after the victory in Karnataka, the Congress's claim to lead the opposition alliance will be strong.

Although the opposition parties are already united in many states. The Mahagathbandhan of Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Janata Dal United is in power in Bihar. In Jharkhand also, the alliance of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Congress and RJD is in power. The Mahavikas Aghadi alliance of Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party was in power in Maharashtra till the change of government last year.

This victory will only boost the image created by Rahul Gandhi through Bharat Jodo Yatra. It can be said that Rahul Gandhi has created a momentum for the Congress not only in Karnataka but also in other states.
