Gwalior: The cyclonic storm Biparjoy, which wreaked havoc in Rajasthan and Gujarat, is likely to move towards North-North East of Rajasthan in the next 12 hours. Dr. Mrityunjay Mohapatra, Director General, Meteorological Department, told that heavy rainfall occurred in Gujarat and Rajasthan due to the cyclone.
Due to the storm, flood-like conditions were created in the desert areas. Many houses were flooded up to 5 feet.
Biparjoy will move to South UP via Gwalior
This storm has turned into a low pressure area and passing through Gwalior on Monday. It will move to South Uttar Pradesh via Gwalior. Due to this, there is a possibility of good rain in some areas including Rajgarh of Bhopal division and Gwalior Chambal division.
Biparjoy will remain active in MP till June 22
Biparjoy will remain active in Madhya Pradesh till June 22. There may be heavy rains in Gwalior-Chambal for the next two days. Bhopal and Ujjain divisions will also receive showers. The districts of these four divisions are adjacent to Rajasthan. Here the speed of the storm can be 60 km per hour or more. For the next four days, the weather will remain rainy across the state.
Heavy rain in Gwalior-Chambal division on 19, 20 June
HS Pandey, senior meteorologist of IMD Bhopal, told that on June 19 and 20, there may be heavy rains along with strong thunderstorms in the Gwalior-Chambal division. Heavy rain is expected in Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena and Sheopurkalan. Tikamgarh, Niwari, Chhatarpur, Rewa-Satna on June 20-21. However, the storm has turned into low pressure. Situation like Gujarat or Rajasthan will not happen here.
7 CM rainfall occurred in Ratlam
On the other hand, about 7 CM of rainfall occurred in Ratlam in the last 24 hours. It has been raining intermittently in Guna since Sunday evening. In 24 hours, about 1.3 CM of rain has been recorded here. Shivpuri has received 1.5 CM, Ujjain 0.5 CM, Gwalior 0.3 CM rainfall. Rainfall also occurred in Sagar.
Maximum impact of Biparjoy in these 4 divisions
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum impact of Biparjoy storm will be seen in four divisions of the state, Bhopal, Gwalior, Chambal and Ujjain.
It will rain in Bhopal, Raisen, Rajgarh, Sehore, Vidisha, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Datia, Guna, Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Sheopurkalan, Ujjain, Shajapur, Dewas, Agar, Ratlam, Mandsaur and Neemuch. At the same time, the storm can move at a speed of 50 km or more.
Apart from these, the rainfall will also occur in Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Siwanpi, Mandla, Balaghat, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore.
