This is the first time in 200 years of Test history that a captain has won the match without doing anything. Before Ben Stokes in Test cricket, no team captain had achieved this feat till date. England team's star batsman and former captain Joe Root completed 11,000 runs of his career in this match. He scored 56 runs in the first innings. With this, Root has become the fastest batsman from England to score 11,000 runs in Test cricket. Earlier this record was in the name of former England captain Alastair Cook. Cook completed 11,000 runs in 252 innings, while Root achieved this feat in 238 innings.
