Karnataka: Why Did DK Shivakumar Say One Day He Will Become CM, Will DK Rebel

The Siddaramaiah government has started functioning in Karnataka. After the election, there was fierce politics between Siddaramaiah and Congress State President DK Shivakumar regarding the CM's chair.  After this, Siddaramaiah got the CM's chair, while DK had to be content with the post of Deputy CM. But now once again DK Shivakumar, who was involved in the race for the post of Chief Minister, has expressed his anguish.

'Supporters wanted me to become CM of Karnataka'

Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar told his supporters that you have voted for me in large numbers. You wanted me to become the CM of Karnataka, but what can be done? The party took a decision, which Iaccepted. 

Shivakumar said he was advised by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. After this he had to accept their decision. DK Shivakumar said that for the time being he will have to be patient. Shivakumar had reached his constituency for the first time after becoming Deputy CM. When he reached among the supporters, his pain overflowed. During this, DK also appeared emotional. 

'I'll accept decision of party high command'

However, later he put all the speculations to rest by saying that he would accept the decision of the party high command. However, this firebrand Congress leader has assured his supporters that one day he will become the CM. His hopes will be fulfilled. He will definitely become the Chief Minister of Karnataka. DK told the supporters that like him, all of you will have to be patient for the time being. We will have to wait for the time to come.

DK holds charge of Finance Ministry along with with Deputy CM

DK Shivakumar has also been given charge of the finance ministry along with the deputy CM. Not only this, it has also been assured by the Congress that he will remain the state president of the party till the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In the political circles and among the supporters of DK Shivakumar, there is also speulation that DK can be made the Chief Minister of the state after the next two and a half years. However, no official statement of any kind has come out from the Congress in this regard.
