Is This Going To Be Rohit Sharma's Last Year In International Cricket? Coach Said THIS

Indian team captain Rohit Sharma's cricketing career is not going well these days. Rohit has been struggling with form for a long time, while under his captaincy the team has been losing ICC tournaments one after the other. In such a situation, it is being said that the ODI World Cup to be held at the end of the year could be the last World Cup of Rohit's cricketing career. But why this is being said, there are many reasons behind it. Let us tell you about those reasons:

1. Age is a big factor

Rohit Sharma, who made his debut against Ireland in the 2007 T20 World Cup, is now 36 years old. Generally, international cricketers retire at this age. By the next World Cup, Rohit's age will be above 40. That's why it is difficult for Rohit to get a place in the ODI setup after the World Cup. Apart from this, BCCI is grooming youngsters like Shubman Gill, Rituraj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan for the team's ODI setup. Therefore Rohit may not be seen in the team after this ODI World Cup.

2. Is already out of T20 setup

Changes started in Team India after the crushing defeat in the T20 World Cup. Now under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, BCCI has fielded the entire youth brigade in T20. It is worth remembering that after the World Cup, India has played 8 T20 matches, but Rohit has not appeared in them. The selectors have already said that they will prepare a new team of youngsters for next year's World Cup.

3. Can do captaincy in Test

In Test setup, Rohit can continue his captaincy for the next two-three years. The team does not yet have a specialist opener, as well as the BCCI would like to groom India's new Test captain under Rohit's captaincy in the next 2-3 years.

The Indian team has lost the last Test championship under Rohit's captaincy. In such a situation, there is going to be a lot of pressure on Rohit in the Test Championship circle this time. However, nothing can be said openly on this also.

4. Fitness is also a reason

Questions have been raised on Rohit Sharma's fitness for a long time. While the fitness of the Indian team has improved over the years, Rohit Sharma has been seen unfit all the time. Being the captain, he used to get concession from BCCI every time, but now BCCI has also come into action mode. Along with fitness, Rohit's age can also be the reason for his retirement.

Rohit's coach's big statement

Rohit Sharma's childhood coach Dinesh Lad says that it is possible that this could be Rohit's last year in international cricket as the T20 World Cup is to be held next year and the World Cup has now become a fast-paced game. Looking at Rohit's age and fitness, it seems that this year's ODI World Cup will be his last international tournament.
