Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections-2023: Why AAP, BSP Are Happy With Possibility Of Congress Making Early Ticket Announcements

Bhopal: There is good news for the Congress leaders involved in the race for the ticket for the last one year. The first list of candidates is expected to come in June. The party is likely to declare 50 to 70 percent tickets in July or August itself.

The Congress may announce tickets early this time. For this, its leaders are busy making preparations.

Recently, there was a marathon meeting of Madhya Pradesh leaders with Congress National President Mallikarjan Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal in Delhi. All the senior leaders of MP Congress including Kamal Nath, Digvijay Singh, Dr. Govind Singh, Ajay Singh Rahul and Arun Yadav were present. After the meeting, Rahul Gandhi also claimed party will win 150 seats in Madhya Pradesh.

Ticket seekers will be saved the trouble of making  rounds of Delhi

With early announcement of tickets, ticket aspirants will be saved from the trouble of making  rounds of Delhi for tickets at the last moment. Ticket aspirants are happy that if they don't get ticket then they will get enough time to consider other options and alternatives available before them.

AAP, BSP may try to lure disgruntled leaders of Cong

Election managers of third front party parties like AAP and BSP are also happy with the distribution of tickets by the Congress just four months before the election. Obviously they can lure the disgruntled leaders of Congress with promise of ticket.

4 or more contenders for each seat

The fact is that there are four to half a dozen contenders for each seatin Congress. This situation is also in those seats where Congress has sitting MLAs. Ticket will be given to only one but ticket seekers are determined to contest elections at all costs. The contenders can either ride an elephant or hold a broom.

As the tickets in Congress are likely to be announced months in advance, the strategists of the saffron party have also strongly suggested that the same method should be adopted in their party too so that the Congress, which claims to win 150 seats, can be countered.

However, a senior Congress leader says that tickets should be given only after the announcement of elections so that those who are denied tickets get minimum time to cause political harm to the party's candidate.
