Madhya Pradesh Election 2023: Will credibility of Congress be saved in Churhat? Prestige of Ajay Singh at stake; AAP changed electoral equation

Sidhi: Churhat assembly seat of Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district will once again be in limelight in the entire state in the upcoming elections. The entry of Aam Aadmi Party has changed the electoral equation here.

As it is the home area of former Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader late Kunwar Arjun Singh, the election of Churhat is closely watched by the entire state. The prestige of his son and former Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh Rahul will be at stake from here. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see if the credibility of the Congress will be saved in Churhat or whether the BJP will win again.

The Aam Aadmi Party is also trying its best to increase its mass base here. There are a total of 9 lakh 60 thousand 933 voters in Churhat assembly constituency, in which 5 lakh 2 thousand 593 are male and 4 lakh 58 thousand 329 are female voters. Further minor changes in figures are possible.

Ajay Singh has learnt lesson from previous defeat

Former Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh Rahul, the only contender from the Congress, has continuously maintained his activism in the area taking lessons from the previous defeat. This is the reason why BJP MLA Sharadendu Tiwari also has to run village-to-village campaigns to inform about the schemes of his government.

In Churhat assembly constituency, BJP has been speaking about road, school and tap water scheme of the party. However, no plan for major development works could be made.

Anendra Mishra likely to be AAP candidate from Churhat

On the other hand, Anendra Mishra Rajan, son of former BJP MP Govind Mishra, is set to contest from Churhat on behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party. He has been running a village-to-village contact campaign for several months. By increasing his mass base, Anendra can weaken the position of the BJP.

Farmers wandering for jobs

Local residents are not happy. Farmers are wandering for jobs after land acquisition for railways in the assembly constituency. Employment opportunities are not available as per requirement. Health system is bad in the entire area.

Illegal liquor trade not curbed

Illegal drug business is at its peak in the area. Consignment of illegal liquor and ganja is caught every day. The name of the area keeps emerging even in the cases of crimes.

Demand to free sand restricted area of Son Gharial

Son river flows from a large area of Churhat. There has been a demand to free the sand-restricted area of Son Gharial Sanctuary. The coming time will decide which issue the public gives importance to in the election. In such a situation, the personal image of the candidate and his caste equation can play an important role in the election.
