Asia Cup 2023 Schedule Announced; India, Pakistan To clash On This Date

The schedule for the Asia Cup 2023, to be hosted jointly by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, has been announced. The tournament will be held from August 30 to September 17. 

 

The tournament will follow a hybrid model with Pakistan hosting four matches across two venues and Sri Lanka hosting the remaining games

 

The tournament, which will be played in fifty-overs format, has six teams divided into two groups of three teams each. Pakistan, India and Nepal are in Group A while Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are in Group B.

 

India, Pakistan to clash on September 2 in Kandy


Pakistan will take on Nepal in the opening match of the 2023 Asia Cup in Multan, Pakistan. The iconic clash between India and Pakistan is set for September 2 in Kandy. 

 

The six group-stage matches will be followed by the Super 4s, beginning September 6.

 

The final will be played by the teams that occupy the top two spots at the end of the Super 4s on September 17 in Colombo.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
