Dhule: A major accident took place in Dhule, Maharashtra on Tuesday. A truck rammed into a hotel on the Mumbai-Agra highway due to brake failure. 10 people died in this accident. 28 people are injured.
The accident occurred near Palasner village on the Mumbai-Agra highway in Dhule, over 300 km from the state capital.
The accident took place on the Mumbai-Agra highway, at Palasner village in Shirpur taluka in Dhule district around 12 noon. The death toll is expected to rise further.
Truck crushed many people sitting in roadside hotel
CCTV footage of the accident has come to the fore, the truck is seen coming fast. First it hits the white colored car. It also hit two motorcycles and another container from the rear side. Then after the collision the truck turns and rams into a roadside hotel. It crushes many people sitting here.
The brakes of the truck failed, following which its driver lost control over the wheels.
The truck then rammed into a hotel near a bus stop on the highway and overturned. The truck was going towards Dhule from Madhya Pradesh.
The victims included some of those waiting for a bus at the stop. After being alerted, the police rushed to the spot.
The injured persons were rushed to hospitals in Shirpur and Dhule, the police said.
