MP Rains: Heavy Showers Lash Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore; Narmada Above Danger Mark In Barwani

 

Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, it rained heavily on Friday in several districts including capital Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore and Seoni. Ujjain recorded 75 mm of rain throughout the day. About 50 mm of rainfall occurred in Seoni.

Pachmarhi received 28 mm of rain, Shivpuri 20 mm, Guna 20 mm, Raisen 19 mm, Sagar 15 mm, Damoh 12 mm, Ratlam 11 mm, Indore 8.8 mm of rain. Rainfall also occurred in Dhar, Betul, Sidhi, Jabalpur, Malanjkhand, Chhindwara, Narmadapuram and Bhopal.

Due to heavy rains in Ujjain for about two hours, the roads turned into ponds.

It rained heavily in Bhopal in the afternoon. About 20 mm of rainfall occurred. In Narmadapuram too, rainfall occurred intermittently from 4 am. The low-lying areas were filled with water. Roads were submerged.

Rivers and drains are in spate in many areas. In Barwani, the Narmada river is flowing 7 meters above the danger mark. The old bridge at Rajghat has sunk. Water has reached inside the Datta temple built on top of the ghat.


In Bhind, it has been raining for 2 days, the roads have been submerged and water has been filled in the lower settlements.

 

Check dam burst in Siladehi village of Betul


All 6 gates of Wardha and all 8 gates of Chandora dam were opened in Multai tehsil of Betul district. Earlier, after heavy rains on Thursday night in Siladehi village of the district, the check dam burst on Friday morning. At the same time, two gates of Parsdoh Dam have been opened up to two metres. Here the Tapti river is in spate. Due to this, Tapti Sarovar is also overflowing.

Monsoon system will remain active in East MP


The monsoon system will remain active in the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh for the next 2 to 3 days. There will be a period of rain in the south-eastern part as well. Due to this, strong water may fall at some places in Gwalior, Chambal, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Rewa and Sagar divisions. After this, the weather will open across the state. There may be a break in rain for a few days. From August 5, the phase of heavy rains is expected to start again in the state.

Prediction for next few days


Senior meteorologist HS Pandey told that moderate to heavy rain is expected in the south-eastern and eastern region for the next two-three days. Light rain will occur in Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram and Bhopal divisions of western Madhya Pradesh. This will happen because the system is away. At present there is a low pressure area over Odisha and Andhra Post. It will rain for the next two-three days. After this the rain activity will reduce. From 3rd to 4th August the weather will remain like this. After this, the period of heavy rains will start.
