Bhopal: Monsoon system has been active in the south-eastern part of Madhya Pradesh for the last two days. There is an alert of heavy rain in 18 districts of the state in the next 24 hours. There is also a possibility of lightning in 7 districts. Light rain may occur in other districts of the state including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur.
According to Met Office heavy rain may occur in 18 districts including Sagar, Balaghat, Mandla, Seoni, Dindori, Satna, Rewa, Ashoknagar, Singrauli, Sidhi, Anuppur, Shahdol, Chhindwara, Panna, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh.
Light rain may occur in 35 districts including Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Guna, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Umaria, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur and Niwari.
Senior Meteorologist HS Pandey told that it is raining moderately to heavily in South-East and East Madhya Pradesh. This phase will stop in three to four days, but from August 5, it is expected to rain again in the entire state.
All ghats of Tapti submerged
The gates of two dams built on the Tapti river in Betul have been opened. Two gates of Parsdoh Dam 1 meter and all the gates of Chandora Dam will remain open till July 31. Due to this the water level of the river is increasing continuously. The river water is at the warning level in Burhanpur. All the ghats of Tapti river are submerged in Burhanpur.
From June 1 to July 29, Seoni, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Sehore, Narmadapuram, Indore and Harda have received rainfall between 60 to 68 cm.
Balaghat, Mandla, Sagar, Betul, Burhanpur, Dewas, Raisen, Shajapur, Vidisha have received 60 cm or more of rain.
Agar-Malwa, Bhind, Bhopal, Guna, Jhabua, Neemuch, Rajgarh, Sheopurkalan, Shivpuri, Anuppur, Dindori, Jabalpur and Shahdol received rainfall of 40 cm or more.
But there are some districts that have received below normal rainfall. Satna has received around 20 cm rainfall. Rewa, Singrauli, Ashoknagar, Datia and Gwalior have received less than 30 cm of rain.
