Bank of Baroda Withdraws Sunny Deol's Bungalow Auction Notice

Bank of Baroda on Monday said actor Sunny Deol has offered to settle the dues related to his bungalow in Mumbai.

The bank's statement came hours after it withdrew the public notice to auction the villa owned by actor and sitting Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament to recover Rs 56 crore dues.

The bank said Sunny Deol has approached the bank for settling the dues as per the sale notice published on August 20, wherein the borrower/guarantors were notified that they are entitled to redeem the securities by paying the outstanding dues/costs/charges and expenses at any time before the sale is conducted,

Earlier, a day after putting out a public notice to auction the villa, BoB said the process is withdrawn due to technical reasons.

In a public notice on Sunday, the State-owned bank had said it would e-auction 'Sunny Villa' in the Juhu area of Mumbai on September 25.

But in a notice on Monday, Bank of Baroda said the e-auction notice published on August 20 ”stands withdrawn due to technical reason”

Bollywood actor and BJP MP from Punjab's Gurdaspur Sunny Deol is in headlines these days for the film Gadar-2. The film is close to earning Rs 400 crore.

Sunny Deol is BJP MP from Gurdaspur seat of Punjab since 2019. He defeated the then Congress leader Sunil Jakhar. Actor Vinod Khanna was a BJP MP from this seat for a long time.

Wonder who triggered these technical reasons, asks Ramesh

Now on this decision, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh asked - Where did the technical reasons for stopping the auction come from?

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh raised the question. He tweeted, 'Yesterday afternoon, the country came to know that Bank of Baroda has put BJP MP Sunny Deol's Juhu residence up for e-auction as he has not repaid Rs 56 crore to the bank. This morning in less than 24 hours the nation learns that Bank of Baroda has withdrawn the auction notice due to 'technical reasons'. Wonder who triggered these technical reasons?
