Madhya Pradesh: Indore Police Files FIR Against Priyanka, Kamal Nath, Arun Yadav; This Is Whole Case

Indore: The Indore police has said it has registered a first information report against the "handlers" of the 'X' accounts of senior Congress leaders including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath and former Union minister Arun Yadav.

The FIR has been registered over a post accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Madhya Pradesh of corruption.

Complaint said a fake letter was circulated on social media

The Indore police commissioner said late on Saturday night that local BJP's legal cell convenor Nimesh Pathak had filed the complaint that a fake letter bearing the name of a person called Gyanendra Awasthi was circulated on social media. The letter alleged that the contractors in the state are being asked to pay 50 percent commission.

Congress leaders tweeted about the alleged letter

The complaint Pathak said that Congress leaders tweeted about the alleged letter, in which the BJP government in the state was accused of working for 50 percent commission. This alleged letter is mentioned to be written in the name of Gwalior resident Gyanendra Awasthi under the banner of an association. The complainant stated that when he inquired about the concerned address in Gwalior and the person named Gyanendra Awasthi, no such person was found there and no such association was found.

Bid to tarnish image of BJP: Complaint

The complainant has alleged that several leaders including Priyanka Gandhi, Kamal Nath and Arun Yadav have tweeted on the basis of this alleged letter. It seems that this has been done deliberately to tarnish the image of BJP and BJP government. The complainant has requested the police to ascertain the veracity of the letter so that the facts can come to the fore. In the letter, a demand has also been made for a detailed inquiry into the matter.

A case has been registered against Awasthi as well as the "handlers" of the 'X' (formerly Twitter) accounts of Priyanka, Nath and Arun Yadav at the city's Sanyogitaganj police station.

Priyanka had said people will oust BJP govt of 50 percent

Earlier, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi in a recent tweet had accused the state government of corruption and said people will oust the BJP government of 50 percent commission in MP. After this Home Minister Narottam Mishra had threatened of legal action.

But Kamal Nath came to Priyanka's defence. Nath said, "There are thousands of similar issues, how many cases will BJP file? Now the corruption is being exposed in the whole state."

Priyanka Gandhi had shared a snap of newspaper cutting on Twitter on Friday evening and wrote, "In Madhya Pradesh, the contractors' union has written a letter to the Chief Justice of the High Court, complaining that the government releases the payment only after getting 50 percent commission . The corrupt BJP government in Karnataka used to collect 40 percent commission. In Madhya Pradesh, BJP has gone ahead by breaking its own record of corruption."

"The people of Karnataka ousted the government of 40 percent commission, now the people of Madhya Pradesh will remove the BJP government of 50 percent commission from the power," she further wrote.

Narottam Mishra retaliated to Gandhi's tweet

After this home minister Mishra retaliated to Gandhi's tweet and said, "This shows the mindset of Congress, they are doing politics of deceit in the state, and this proves that the party is agenda-less in future. Already people do not have faith in the party, and now because of your Priyanka Gandhi's deceitful tweet, they have further lost faith in it."

Mishra further said that he would like to challenge congressmen to provide the proof about the allegation made in the tweet otherwise we have all options open to take action into the matter. Meanwhile, Nath also said, "Whether the letter is fake or true, one can ask the public here, they will tell not only about one but about around 200 such letters.
