Shammi Kapoor Was Shocked When Son Aditya Raj Kapoor Decided To Leave Film Industry; Now Why Aditya Wants To Complete Masters And Ph D At Age 67?



Aditya Raj Kapoor, son of actors Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Bali, has completed his graduation in philosophy at the age of 67 with 59 per cent marks.


Aditya Kapoor told about his desire to study at this age, “At the age of 16, I started working in RK Studio. Earlier there was no desire to study, but now this desire has awakened.


He says that daughter Tulsi encouraged him to start his studies again. “I could not get a loan from the bank because I did not have a degree. But today I have a degree, I can say this with pride, "Aditya said.


He fulfilled this dream of higher studies from Indira Gandhi Open University. He says that now his dream is to complete his Masters by the age of 70 and also do PhD.


Lives with family in Goa


Aditya is also a professional biker and is currently living in Goa with his family.


Aditya is cousin of actors Rishi Kapoor, Karan Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor. He is uncle to actors Ranbir Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. 


Aditya Raj Kapoor is married to Priti Kapoor and has two children, a son named Vishwapratap Raj Kapoor and a daughter Tulsi Kapoor.


Aditya faced lot of difficulties due to lack of degree


Due to lack of education and degree, Aditya Raj Kapoor had to face a lot of difficulties in his working life.


When he left the film industry and started looking for a new job, he used to be at disadvantage as he did not have certificates and degrees.


Aditya says, “People ask for a certificate for a job and say that you do not have anything, so why should they give you a job. No bank would even give me a loan.


Aditya Kapoor worked in RK Studio for 19 years


Aditya Kapoor worked in RK Studio for 19 years.


He was the chief assistant in Raj Kapoor's film 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram'. Before that he was also an assistant in the film 'Dharam Karam'.


Aditya Kapoor also tried his hand in acting and direction.


Started his career as assistant director in Bobby


After completing his schooling, Aditya started his career as an assistant director with his uncle Raj Kapoor in the 1973 romantic film Bobby.


After this, he worked as an assistant director in the films 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram' in 1978, 'Girfatar' in 1985, 'Saajan' in 1991, 'Dil Tera Aashiq' in 1993, 'Papi Gudiya' in 1996 and 'Arzoo' in 1999. also worked.


Aditya Kapoor's first film as an actor was Jagmohan Mundhra's 'Chase'. Apart from this, he played a small role in 'Dil Tera Aashiq'.


He did acting in these films, but according to the trend in the Kapoor family, he was never launched as an actor.


He says, “After Satyam Shivam Sundaram, I was about to do another film and was about to be launched as a hero, but by then I had chosen another path for myself.”


Shammi Kapoor was shocked


When his father Shammi Kapoor saw that Aditya Kapoor had decided to leave the film industry, he was shocked.


Aditya says, “The father felt that I was not qualified to do any business. And acting is a family thing. But when he saw my dedication in the business, he agreed and then gave his blessings."


Aditya's company used to run famous Appu Ghar


Aditya formed a management company and handled the task of developing and managing several amusement parks in the country for decades.


 In 2014 he participated in the bike-ride India Hai that covered several Indian states and some nearby countries like Nepal and Bhutan. In the same year Kapoor appeared in the Ashutosh Gowariker-directed television series Everest.

He also owns a truck and warehouse business. His construction company has developed the amusements parks Fantasy Land in Mumbai and Appu Ghar in Delhi.  His company used to run the famous Appu Ghar in Delhi.


But a time came when he closed the company and took retirement and made up his mind to do those works which had been missed till now.


Says Aditya, "Be it acting or cricket, do whatever you want to do. But first complete your studies. Education will guide you and make you better. Studying brings out sociality in you.
