Bhopal Air Show: Indian Air Force Displays Prowess Of Fighter Planes Over City's Upper Lake



Bhopal: The Indian Air Force displayed its might on Saturday in the blue sky of the capital Bhopal. IAF pilots displayed their bravery and courage with fighter planes. To see this glory of the IAF, the people of Bhopal had started gathering on VIP Road and Lake View Road since Saturday morning. Along with this, people had also camped on the roofs of the houses.



This was the country's largest air-show over any water body by the Indian Air Force on the 91st Foundation Day at the Boat Club located at Upper Lake in the capital.



Governor Mangubhai Patel was the chief guest and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was present as the special guest in the program. The program started by skydivers making the tricolor in the sky. 

 


After this, when the Chinook helicopters reached the lake, the public welcomed them with applause. After this the helicopters came forward carrying the tricolour. The national anthem was sung at the beginning and end of the program.



Tejas dived in the air at top speed. The sky echoed with their roar. 9 Surya Kiran aircrafts formed a diamond shape at a height of 6000 feet. In honor of Bhojeshwar Mahadev, aircrafts performed in the shape of a trident in the sky. There was a huge crowd of spectators from VIP Road, Van Vihar to Raja Bhoj Setu to witness this thrill. People watched the show from the rooftops of houses and hotels.

 


In the air show, first of all, 10 members of Akash Ganga team did sky diving by parachute in the Upper Lake from a height of 8000 feet in MI-17 V-5 helicopters. After two Chinook helicopters took off from Manuabhan Tekri, 4 Chetak helicopters flew in flag formation. Meanwhile, at 10.17 am, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with his wife Sadhna Singh arrived to watch the air-show.



C-130J Super Hercules, AN-32 aircraft in the Prithvi formation also performed feats. While 5 Jaguar aircrafts made Shamsheer formation, 4 HAL Dhruv helicopters of Sarang team made heart shape in the air.



Air Chief Marshal Vibhash Pandey said that the Air Force is preparing to increase its air bases in Madhya Pradesh. For this the place has been surveyed. Along with this, he said that a rally will also be organized in MP soon to connect the youth with the Air Force. 



Pandey said that our show today was successful. The enthusiasm of the people of Bhopal shows that they liked this show very much. A large number of people also enjoyed the show virtually.
