Madhya Pradesh Elections-2023: What Will Be Focus Of Congress In First List Likely To Be Released By Sep 15

In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress has geared up for the assembly elections to be held at the end of the year.

The churning of the Congress regarding ticket distribution in the capital Bhopal has started on 2 September. Its meeting started at PCC at 10 am. In-charge General Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Randeep Singh Surjewala, Chairman of Screening Committee Bhanwar Jitendra Singh and Member Ajay Singh Lallu and MP Satyagiri Ulka were present in the meeting. It is believed that the Congress may release its first list by 15 September.

Candidates could be fielded first on those seats where BJP has announced its candidates

According to sources, there are some seats where the names of the candidates have been finalised. In the first list there will be focus on about 50 assembly seats. According to the Congress strategy, candidates should be fielded first on those seats where BJP has announced its candidates. So that the Congress candidate can also get time for public relations. Focus will also be on those areas where the number of contenders in the party is not high. Due to which the possibility of protest is less.

Names will be shortlisted in  Screening Committee meeting

At the same time, the meeting of the Screening Committee of Congress will be held in Delhi on 11 and 12 September. Names will be shortlisted in this. It is being said that the Congress may release the first list by 15 September. However, those who have lost more than two times are unlikely to get tickets.

Tickets of over 15 sitting MLAs could be cut

There are reports that the Congress may bet on new faces in the elections. The party's ticket formula has been kept only for the winning candidate. According to the information, this time Congress can cut tickets of more than 15 sitting MLAs. 

Debate on giving ticket to new leaders who joined Cong

On 2nd September 8 leaders have joined Congress. There will be a debate today on September 3 on giving tickets to these new leaders who have joined the Congress.

However, on the question of releasing the list of candidates, State President Kamal Nath has said that we are in no hurry to release the list. Those who will get tickets have been informed.
