Rajasthan: CM Gehlot To Launch Indira Rasoi Scheme Rural Today; Now Nutritious Food Will Be Available For Only Rs 8 In Rural Areas Also


Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has taken a step towards realizing the concept of 'No One Sleeps Hungry' in the state. On the lines of the scheme already being run in the cities, now the Indira Rasoi Scheme-Rural is being launched. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will launch the scheme from Jhilay village in Tonk district at about 12 noon on Sunday, September 10. Besides, he will also hold a dialogue with the beneficiaries of Indira Rasoi being run in various districts.


Target to serve 7.30 crore food plates


The Chief Minister, looking at the utility after the successful operation of around 1000 Indira Rasoi in urban local bodies, announced to launch 1000 rasois in rural areas also in the budget 2023-24. In this scheme, a target has been set to serve around 7.30 crore food plates to the needy in the rural areas in a year.


Rasois to be run by Rajeevika


Gehlot on August 18, 2023, during Sakhi Sammelan, announced to run 1000 Indira Rasois from rural towns through Rajeevika. Now this scheme is being started from the rural towns with population of more than 5000 from Sunday. With this, livelihood opportunities will increase for women in rural areas.


Lump sum amount and subsidy for setting up Indira Rasoi


The state government, for setting up new Rasois in the Indira Rasoi Scheme-Rural, is giving a lump sum amount of Rs 5 lakh and subsidy of Rs 17 per plate. More than 10,000 women of Rajeevika will get employment in these rasois. The control room to monitor the Indira Rasoi Scheme-Rural at the state level has been set up in the Panchayati Raj department.


More than 13 crore plates served in cities


Till now more than 13 crore plates of nutritious and tasty food have been served from around 1000 Indira Rasois in the urban areas. Philanthropists can also sponsor food in Indira Rasoi scheme.


Nutritious Food for Rs 8


Poor and needy people are being served nutritious food for Rs 8 only with dignity in the Indira Rasoi scheme. All sections of people including students and labourers are being benefitted from this scheme. In this time of inflation, this scheme is proving to be a boon for students, migrants and every needy person.
