Jaipur: Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi laid the foundation stone of the new building of Rajasthan Congress in Jaipur on Saturday.
The new building of the headquarters of Rajasthan Congress will be built in Mansarovar where about six thousand square yards of land has been allotted for it and it will cost about Rs 80 crore.
On this occasion, many leaders including Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, General Secretary KC Venugopal, Congress' Rajasthan in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Assembly Speaker Dr CP Joshi, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot were present.
Rahul interact with girl students
After this, in the function organized on this occasion, Kharge and Rahul Gandhi were welcomed wearing turbans. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi reached Maharani College where he interacted with the girl students and then traveled on a scooty with a girl student.
Rahul later wrote on Social media: Empower women like Mimansha Upadhyay (referring to one of the girl students), and they’ll lead our country to a brighter future.
Senior leaders welcomed Rahul at Jaipur airport
Earlier, many senior leaders arrived at Jaipur airport to welcome Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi was received by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at Jaipur Airport. On this occasion, party state president Govind Singh Dotasara along with in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, election observers and other senior leaders were also present.
Party's woman leader Amrita Dhawan, co-in-charge of the party in Rajasthan, welcomed Rahul at the Jaipur airport. She is among the veteran women leaders of the party. Amrita Dhawan has also been the president of the women's unit of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee in the year 2020. She has also been a member of Congress's student unit NSUI. She has been the President of Delhi University Students Union.
There are a few months left for Rajasthan Assembly elections, hence this visit of Rahul Gandhi is considered very important. Rahul Gandhi will address a large gathering of Congress during this visit. Along with Rahul Gandhi, party president Mallikarjun Kharge will also attend the meeting in Jaipur. Party state president Govind Singh Dotasara said this meeting will be historic.
