Congress releases first list of candidates for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana; Kamal Nath to contest from Chhindwara



Congress has released the first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in three states Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. The names of a total of 229 candidates have been decided. In which 144 candidates have been fielded from Madhya Pradesh, 30 from Chhattisgarh and 55 from Telangana. The second list of candidates for the remaining seats will be released later.


Former CM Kamal Nath will contest elections from Chhindwara. Vikram Mastal has been given ticket against Shivraj from Budhni. Voting will be held in Madhya Pradesh on 17th November and in Chhattisgarh in two phases on 7th November and 17th November. Results will be declared in five states on December 3.


Bhupesh Baghel to contest from his Patan seat


In Chhattisgarh, the party fielded its chief minister Bhupesh Baghel from his Patan assembly constituency and deputy chief minister TS Singh Deo from Ambikapur assembly seat. 


In Telangana, the party fielded Pradesh Congress chief Anumala Revanth Reddy from Kodangal assembly seat while CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has been fielded from Madhira-SC seat. 


Prominent names in MP's list


Besides former Chief Minister Kamal Nath names of Jaivardhan Singh from Raghogarh, Govind Singh from Lahar are in the list. Apart from them, the names of many veteran Congress leaders including Tarun Bhanot, Vijayalakshmi Sadho, Sajjan Verma, Umang Singhar, Vikrant Bhuria, Bala Bachchan, Hina Kavre, Sanjay Yadav, Jaivardhan, Satish Sikarwar, KP Singh, Suresh Raje, Praveen Pathak and Jitu Patwari have also been included in the list.


Former chief minister Digvijaya Singh's son Jaivardhan Singh has been fielded from Raghigath seat. He was a minister in the last Kamal Nath government. 


State President of Youth Congress Dr. Vikrant Bhuria has been given ticket from Jhabua. Former NSUI president Vipin Wankhede will be in the fray from Agar Malwa. 


Kalpana Verma from Raigaon, Awadhesh Nayak from Datia and Suresh Raje from Dabra have been made the candidates. 


Apart from them, the party has fielded Manoj Shukla from Narela, Bhopal, MLA Arif Masood from Bhopal Central, Ravi Joshi from Khargone, former minister and MLA Sachin Yadav from Kasrawad, Kedar Dabar from Bhagwanpura, former minister and MLA Bala Bachchan from Rajpur, Panchilal Meda from Dharampuri , former minister and MLA Jitu Patwari from Rau, Sanjay Shukla, MLA from Indore 1, Anubha Munjare from Balaghat, Nilay Daga from Betul, Sindhu Vikram Singh from Shamshabad, Priyavrat Singh, MLA from Khichlipur, Sajjan Verma, former minister and MLA from Sonakutch, MLA Kunal Chaudhary has been given the ticket from Kalapipal.


Candidates are yet to be announced for 210 seats in the three states.


Names have been announced for 30 out of 90 seats in Chhattisgarh. There are 60 seats left here. Names of candidates have been announced for 55 out of 119 seats in Telangana. Names are yet to come for 64 seats here. Overall, the names of candidates for 210 seats in the three states are likely to be announced in the next few days.
