Israel-Palestine Conflict: 22 journalists killed so far, many injured or missing


As many as 22 journalists have died since the conflict between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists,.


The committee has said in a statement that these include 18 Palestinian journalists, three are Israeli and one is Lebanese.


CPJ (Committee to Protect Journalists) says that 15 of these deaths have occurred in Israeli air strikes, two journalists have been killed in Hamas attacks.


According to CPJ, eight journalists have been injured, three are either missing or detained.


A CPJ spokesperson said, “CPJ emphasizes that journalists are also civilians doing difficult work in times of crisis and that parties to the war should not target them.”


Danger to journalists working in Gaza is greater 


CPJ has said in its statement that the danger to journalists working in Gaza is greater because there is also a possibility of Israel's ground campaign there.


Israel is continuously bombing Gaza. According to Hamas's health department, more than four thousand Palestinians have been killed in the bombing so far. More than 1400 people have died in Hamas attacks in southern Israel.


CPJ said it is also investigating multiple reports of disappearances, detentions and targeting of journalists' homes.


CPJ also released the list of journalists killed so far.
