Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections-2023: Jyotiraditya Scindia wades into SP-Congress conflict

The phase of political rhetoric continues amid Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections-2023. Meanwhile, there has been an uproar over the statement of Akhilesh Yadav. Actually, the alliance of SP and Congress has failed in Madhya Pradesh.

Kamal Nath, in response to Akhilesh Yadav's remarks, had questioned, "Who is Akhilesh-Vakhilesh...?" In retaliation, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav directed his criticism towards the Congress, cautioning them not to betray the SP.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also waded into the SP-Congress conflict, launching an offensive against the Congress.

Cong has historically opposed caste censuses: Scindia

Jyotiraditya Scindia lashed out at the Congress in light of Akhilesh Yadav's comments, asserting, "The Congress party has historically opposed conducting caste censuses, even during the era of the Mandal Commission. They consistently resisted the interests of the backward classes, and in the past, prevented any OBC from assuming the role of Chief Minister in Madhya Pradesh. Now, they are suddenly championing the cause of backward classes."

'Akhilesh has now realized the true nature of Congress'

Scindia further accused the Congress of exploiting the Dalit community and urged them to introspect before criticizing others. He implied that Akhilesh Yadav has now realized the true nature of the Congress. Scindia concluded by forecasting that the people of Madhya Pradesh would teach the Congress a lesson for their unfulfilled promises come November 17.

'Cong failed to communicate their reluctance to form state-level alliance: Akhilesh

Countering the Congress, Akhilesh Yadav had contended that the Congress shouldn't deceive the Samajwadi Party, emphasizing that the SP has been the foremost party in the battle against the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh. He called out the Congress for failing to communicate their reluctance to form a state-level alliance, suggesting that the alliance should have only been at the national level. Akhilesh Yadav questioned why the Congress had invited them to the INDIA Alliance meeting if they didn't wish to form an alliance.

Reflecting on the failed alliance between the SP and Congress, Kamal Nath expressed, "We had made earnest efforts to forge an alliance with the Samajwadi Party, as we sought their assistance in defeating the BJP. Unfortunately, our party leaders were not amenable to such an alliance."
