Madhya Pradesh Election-2023: Digvijaya Singh hails Akhilesh; signs of ceasefire between Congress and Samajwadi Party?

All political parties have started campaigning for Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections-2023. Former CM Digvijaya Singh has made a big claim regarding the ongoing political tussle regarding the alliance between Congress and Samajwadi Party. He said that Kamal Nath wanted to form an alliance with Samajwadi Party in the assembly elections, but he did not know how it would happen. Meanwhile,Akhilesh has indicated a willingness to seek peace with Congress.

I don't know why Kamal Nath used wrong words for Akhilesh: Digvijaya

Senior Congress leader and National General Secretary Digvijaya Singh praised the leadership of SP President Akhilesh Yadav. He also said that he doesn't know why Kamal Nath used wrong words for Akhilesh Yadav. It may be recalled that when journalists asked Kamal Nath about Akhilesh Yadav, he said that leave Akhilesh-Vakhilesh. After this statement of Kamal Nath, there is a tussle between SP and Congress.

Digvijaya Singh said that he had advised Kamal Nath to leave 4 seats in the state for Samajwadi Party, but Akhilesh Yadav wants to field candidates on 6 seats. He also said that Akhilesh Yadav will never go with BJP even if Congress and SP contest elections against each other.

SP chief has been alleging betrayal by Cong

Akhilesh Yadav is angry with the attitude of Congress in Madhya Pradesh. The SP chief has been expressing anger over the past one week, alleging “betrayal” by MP Congress poll managers. Without taking names, he said that in the meeting with former Madhya Pradesh CM and Congress leader, he had told on which seats SP's performance was good. After this it was agreed to contest the elections together, but when the list of candidates was released, not a single seat was given to SP.

SP has fielded 45 candidates

After this now SP has fielded 45 candidates. The Samajwadi Party (SP) released the fourth list of candidates for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections-2023 late on Sunday night. With 12 candidates announced in the fourth list, the total number of candidates that the SP has fielded in MP goes up to 45.

Signs of ceasefire?

Meanwhile, signs of a ceasefire emerged from Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), amidst the ongoing tensions between the SP and the Congress, two influential constituents of the INDIA bloc in Uttar Pradesh.

Akhilesh demonstrated his readiness for reconciliation and officially declared a truce recently while speaking to reporters in Hardoi. He stated, "I have just received a message from a senior Congress leader through an intermediary. If that leader is conveying a message, I am prepared to embrace it."

Nevertheless, following Akhilesh's statement, the verbal sparring between the two parties ceased. On Sunday, Akhilesh convened a meeting with the party's MP poll managers.

After the meeting, a party insider disclosed, "Even in the absence of a formal agreement, our party's participation in the Madhya Pradesh elections will be characterized by a spirit of cooperation with the Congress. Our shared goal is to defeat the BJP in Madhya Pradesh."

Vyasji Gond, who serves as the Samajwadi Party's Madhya Pradesh assembly poll coordinator, a national executive member, and a former U.P. minister, affirmed, "Negotiations are currently underway between the SP and the senior leadership of the Congress. We are open to forging necessary alliances to dislodge the BJP from the states and, ultimately, from the Center in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections."
