MP Elections 2023: Minister Bhupendra Singh first in state to submit nomination papers


Bhopal: On the beginning of the nomination process for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh elections-2023 scheduled for next month, Minister Bhupendra Singh, BJP's candidate for the Khurai assembly constituency in Sagar district, officially filed his nomination papers before the returning officer on Saturday. Accompanied by four loyal supporters, Singh was the first candidate to submit his nomination papers in the state. He will lock horns with Raksha Singh Thakur of Congress.


The nomination process for 230 assembly seats of Madhya Pradesh has started from October 21. Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that October 30 will be the last date for filling nomination forms. 


Last date for withdrawal of nomination is Nov 2


Nominations will be scrutinized on October 31. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is November 2. The voting process will be completed in a single phase on November 17 in the entire state. Counting of votes will take place on December 3. At the time of filing nomination, general candidates will have to deposit a security deposit of Rs 10 thousand and Scheduled Caste and Tribe candidates will have to deposit Rs 5 thousand.

 

Only 5 people including candidate to be allowed in RO room


Only 4 persons will be able to enter the Returning Officer (RO) room along with the candidate who has come to fill the nomination. Only three vehicles will be allowed to enter within 100 meters. The process of filling nomination will start from 11 am and continue till 3 pm. No person will be allowed to enter the room or bring documents after 3 pm. Candidates will have to come with all the relevant and necessary documents at the time of nomination like proof of security deposit, Form-A and B, affidavit etc.

Election Commission of India has provided online facility to the candidates for filling online nomination as well as for obtaining other permissions including rally, meeting, temporary office etc.
