UP: Unnao rape case: Victim who accused MLA Kuldeep Sengar of rape lodges FIR against her mother, sister, uncle


Unnao: The victim, who had accused the then MLA Kuldeep Sengar of rape in Makhi police station area of Unnao district in UP, has now accused many people including her mother, uncle and sister of harassment, criminal betrayal and threats and an FIR has been lodged in this regard. Police gave this information on Saturday. 


Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shashi Shekhar Singh said that on Thursday, on the complaint of the victim, the police of Makhi police station booked the victim's uncle Mahesh Singh, mother Asha Singh, sister Muskaan and another woman Sonu Singh under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). 


Victim accuses family members of embezzling assistance money


Singh said that investigation into the matter has been started and action will be taken based on the facts that emerge in the probe. Police sources said that victim had won the fight for justice against the then MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar with the help of her uncle. But now she has accused the same uncle and other members of the family of embezzling the aid money received from the government and NGOs. They have also taken over the houses given by the government. 


Girl says she was pushed out of the house


The girl said she was pushed out of the house. In the complaint given to the police, the victim of Makhi rape case has alleged that at present she is eight months pregnant and is forced to face every possible hardship due to the conspiracy and greed of her family members. The victim has accused her family members of implicating her husband also. 


My uncle can do anything for money: Girl


The victim has written in the complaint, “My greedy uncle Mahesh Singh, who has criminal tendencies, can do anything for money, he has become the enemy of my life and that of my husband.” 


The victim said further, "When I asked for the money given to me by the government and NGOs on the court's order for my needs and expenses, my uncle Mahesh Singh said that already in the management of the case (rape victim's case), seven crore rupees have been spent and the assistance money received is not enough, I want more money from you.”


My mother and sister have become enemies of my life


The victim alleged, “Mahesh Singh is of criminal nature, who is serving a 10-year sentence in Tihar jail in an attempt to murder case. On his instructions, my mother Asha Singh and my real sister have become enemies of my life and that of my husband.” 


In the year 2017, the victim had accused Kuldeep Sengar, the then BJP MLA of Unnao district, of kidnapping and rape and in this case the police arrested Sengar and filed a charge sheet in the court. The victim was a minor at that time. Sengar was found guilty of raping the 17-year-old girl in Unnao district and was sentenced to life imprisonment on 20 December 2019 by Delhi's Tis Hazari court. 


When Sengar was sentenced, he was the BJP MLA from Bangarmau in Unnao district. After the sentencing, his assembly membership was cancelled. Sengar is currently serving his sentence in Delhi's Tihar Jail.
