President Murmu, PM Modi Lead Nation In Paying Tribute To Gandhi, Shastri

New Delhi: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.


In a X post, the Prime Minister said; “I bow to Mahatma Gandhi on the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. His timeless teachings continue to illuminate our path. Mahatma Gandhi's impact is global, motivating the entire humankind to further the spirit of unity and compassion. May we always work towards fulfilling his dreams. May his thoughts enable every youngster be the agent of change he dreamt of, fostering unity and harmony all over.”


The Prime Minister Modi paid tributes to Lal Bahadur Shastri on his Jayanti.


The Prime Minister said Shastri's simplicity, dedication to the nation, and iconic call for 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' resonate even today, inspiring generations. His unwavering commitment to India's progress and his leadership during challenging times remain exemplary. May we always work to realise his vision for a strong India.



Gandhiji’s strong and vibrant ideology will always remain relevant: Murmu


The President of India Droupadi Murmu in her message on Gandhi Jayanti has said Gandhiji ideals of truth and non-violence paved a new way for the world. 


Murmu said Gandhiji not only fought for non-violence throughout his life but he also took up the cause of cleanliness, women empowerment, self-reliance and farmers rights and fought against untouchability, social discrimination and illiteracy. Gandhiji inspired us to participate in the freedom struggle and led a huge movement that changed the course of history and got us independence, she said.


Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama and many other politicians of the world were influenced by Gandhiji’s ideas. Gandhiji’s strong and vibrant ideology will always remain relevant for the world.


Kharge-Rahul pay tribute to Gandhi and Shastri 


Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former President Rahul Gandhi on Monday paid tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversary.


Earlier, Shri Kharge visited Rajghat, the Samadhi of the Father of the Nation, and Vijay Ghat, the Samadhi place of Shri Shastri and paid homage to them.


Kejriwal remembers Gandhi


Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary and called for following his ideals.


Members of the Cabinet, leaders of various political parties and citizens paid their glowing tributes to Gandhi and Shastri.
