Shivpuri: Recently, there is a growing concern about the state of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, as senior party leaders are making statements that indicate their dissatisfaction with the party's leadership. The latest instance involves the senior BJP leader and Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia, who has declined to campaign for the party in the Shivpuri assembly seat.
Yashodhara Raje Scindia, the Sports Minister of Madhya Pradesh, has refused to participate in the upcoming assembly elections campaign, emphasizing that if she were to campaign, it would have been for her own candidacy. Earlier, Yashodhara Raje Scindia had announced that she would not contest in the assembly elections, following which the BJP nominated Devendra Jain for the Shivpuri assembly seat.
Devendra Jain is actively contesting the elections but has not received any support from Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia. Yashodhara Raje has distanced herself from supporting the BJP candidate.

During her visit to Gwalior, Yashodhara Raje was asked by the media if she would campaign in the assembly elections. She firmly declined to participate, citing her multiple COVID-19 infections and the toll it had taken on her health. She expressed the need for rest due to her continuous work and revealed that she had informed the party organization in August about her physical limitations.

Furthermore, Yashodhara Raje Scindia indicated that it was time for someone else to take the reins and for a new face to emerge in the party, emphasizing that leadership roles are not perpetual. Her statement also reflects her disappointment over not receiving a party ticket.
Local political experts in Shivpuri suggest that Yashodhara Raje Scindia's electoral prospects were unfavorable according to surveys, and that she had been aware of this, leading to her earlier decision not to contest. The party did not make any efforts to persuade her, instead choosing Devendra Jain as the candidate. Consequently, in a situation where Devendra Jain was hopeful of Yashodhara Raje Scindia's support, she has made it clear that she will not campaign for him.
