The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has reached Lepcha in Himachal Pradesh to celebrate Diwali with Jawans.
In a X post, the Prime Minister said; “Reached Lepcha in Himachal Pradesh to celebrate Diwali with our brave security forces.”
Lepcha check post located in Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh is situated at a height of about 2 kilometers from the Chinese border. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Army personnel are deployed on the frontline in this post.
There is a Chinese village downstream from this check post. Chinese troops are deployed here. Himachal Pradesh shares a 260 km long border with China. Of this, 140 km is in Kinnaur and 80 km is in Lahaul-Spiti district. Here are 20 posts of India on the Chinese border.
After becoming Prime Minister in 2014, Modi went to Siachen to celebrate his first Diwali. Earlier on Sunday, while congratulating the countrymen, the Prime Minister wrote on X - "Wishing everyone a Happy Diwali! May this special festival bring joy, prosperity and wonderful health to everyone’s lives.”
Since becoming the Prime Minister, Modi has been coming every year to celebrate Diwali among the soldiers. He reached Kashmir maximum 5 times, Himachal Pradesh 2 times, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan (Jaisalmer) and Punjab (Amritsar) once each.
