Neelam has actively participated in numerous protests

Famous for her revolutionary stance in the local community, Neelam has actively participated in numerous protests. Her presence is well-known in her village. Neelam Verma is the eldest child of her parents. She has also been a part of the farmers' demonstrations on the Delhi border against the controversial agricultural laws.

Neelam was worried about not getting a job

Neelam's mother Saraswati said about her daughter, "Neelam was worried about not getting a job and was concerned about her HTET exam given for Haryana Teaching, her scorecard is going to expire this year itself."

According to her family members, she used to say that "despite being capable, she is not getting a job and it is better that she dies."

'Neelam also raised her voice against unemployment, so we are with her'

Neelam's younger brother Ramnivas said, “She has taken part in the farmers' demonstration and the wrestlers' demonstration. Bhagat Singh also sacrificed his life to liberate the country from the British and Neelam also raised her voice against unemployment in the country, so we are with her.”

On May 28 this year, when there were protests in support of wrestlers at Jantar Mantar, Neelam was also involved in them and was also detained by the police.

Ramnivas told that Neelam has qualified many teaching exams.

He says, “She was very upset about not getting a job. After the demonstration of the wrestlers, we told her to focus on her studies.”

Neelam suffered a deep injury to her spine

Neelam's mother Saraswati said about her daughter, “In 2015, my daughter fell from the second floor. She had suffered a deep injury to her spine. She remained bedridden for three years, due to which her dreams were shattered."

“After this she decided to fight for the rights of the people. She decided to fight for the rights of Dalit people working under the MNREGA scheme."

Expressing the family's shock over Neelam's recent actions, Saraswati revealed that they were unaware of her activities on Wednesday. Despite being the most educated woman in the village, Neelam's commitment to social causes has sometimes led to discomfort among certain individuals.

On August 15th, Neelam was invited to hoist the flag at the village school in recognition of her academic achievements. The family asserts that Neelam's sole intention was to highlight the issue of unemployment and demands her immediate release.

United Kisan Morcha leaders have met Neelam's family

Farmer leader Azad Palava pledges strong support for Neelam, emphasizing that she committed no crime but raised a genuine concern about unemployment. He further adds that significant actions will be taken in support of Neelam soon.
