Rajasthan: Congress May Nominate Party Stalwarts for Lok Sabha Elections 2024! These Are Potential Constituencies for Gehlot and Sachin Pilot's Candidacy

Congress is now actively gearing up in Rajasthan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. This will be the first time when Congress is preparing to field many of its MLAs and big faces simultaneously in the Lok Sabha elections.

The political fervor within the party has escalated from Jaipur to Delhi in light of this development. Among the potential contenders are notable leaders such as former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot, State President Govind Singh Dotasra, Harish Chaudhary, CP Joshi, Ashok Chandna, along with several former ministers and current MLAs.

Party heavyweights may contest on 15 to 20 seats

Speculations are rife that the party heavyweights may vie for victory on 15 to 20 out of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Ashok Gehlot is rumored to contest from the Jodhpur Lok Sabha seat, Sachin Pilot from Tonk, Harish Chaudhary from the Barmer-Jaisalmer Lok Sabha seat, and Govind Singh Dotasra from Sikar. In a parallel effort, Congress is also strategizing to field other prominent leaders in various Lok Sabha constituencies.

It is pertinent to note that Congress faced defeats in both the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, with the NDA securing victories in all 25 seats. Despite holding the government in Rajasthan in 2018, Congress failed to secure a single seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. This time around, Congress is optimistic that the inclusion of significant personalities in the Lok Sabha elections could lead to success in clinching at least 4-5 Lok Sabha seats.
