Sachin Pilot said this on Congress defeat in Rajasthan

After the Congress party faced a defeat in the state of Rajasthan, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot emphasized the need for introspection to understand the reasons behind the loss. In Rajasthan, a recurring trend exists where a different party assumes power every five years, and Pilot expressed concern over the party's inability to break this pattern despite considerable efforts.

The Congress Legislature Party is scheduled to convene on Tuesday to discuss the factors contributing to the electoral setback and to formulate a future strategy. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured victory in Rajasthan by capturing 115 out of 199 seats, while Congress managed to secure 69 seats.

Rajasthan has witnessed a 'revolving-door' phenomenon for the past three decades, indicating that no party has been able to form the government consecutively. Sachin Pilot acknowledged the forthcoming challenge of the Lok Sabha elections within the next five months and stressed the importance of honest introspection.

Pilot expressed the party's commitment to playing a robust role as the opposition, holding the government accountable for its promises and representing the voice of the people.

Although the desired outcome of forming a Congress government in Rajasthan did not materialize, Pilot noted that the party's overall vote share did not experience a significant decline across all three states (Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh).
