Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi murder: Protest in Madhya Pradesh; road blocked in Indore; Rajput Karni Sena Indore president said this

Indore: The Rajput community is seething with anger following the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the president of Rajasthan's Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena. Protests are being organized in many districts of Madhya Pradesh including capital Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur. In Indore, Rajput organizations demanded the death penalty for the perpetrators.

A memorandum was submitted to the Collector and chakka jams were staged in Indore on Thursday. This action follows a previous road blockade, during which Collector Ilayaraja met with the protesters and received their memorandum.

Protesters assembled at collector's office

Led by Karni Sena District President Rishi Singh Sisodia, hundreds of members from the Rajput community assembled at the collector's office. They raised slogans, urging the immediate arrest of the accused and demanding a death sentence. The district president emphasized that, similar to the brutal murder of Karni Sena National President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the perpetrators should face severe consequences.

Karni Sena's district president said in Rajasthan a Chief Minister is yet to be sworn in. He demanded swift action by the incoming CM to apprehend the accused. He cautioned that merely punishing the culprits is not sufficient; they should be dealt with decisively, even suggesting capital punishment.

Warning to Rajasthan government

The district president of Indore Karni Sena said that while two individuals have been arrested, it remains uncertain whether they are the actual murderers of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.

Karni Sena issued a stern warning to the Rajasthan government, declaring that unless the murderer of their national president is promptly apprehended and punished, the Rajput community nationwide will unite in the coming days, taking to the streets and implementing road blockades in protest.

Protest in Jabalpur

A day earlier, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha expressed their outrage over the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. They staged a demonstration at Maharana Pratap Chowk on Wednesday.

During the demonstration, Shailendra Singh Thakur, the State President of Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha, along with Ranjhi President Satish Singh Rathore, Rajput Karni Sena President Deepak Singh Chouhan, Sanju Rajput, Garha President Rinku Singh, and others, were present.

Simultaneously, Rajput Karni Sena activists organized a demonstration, attempting to block the national highway at Katangi by-pass. In response to the escalating situation, additional police forces, including Additional SP (Rural) Suryakant Sharma, CSPs, and SHOs of the concerned police stations, were deployed.

Protest in Bhopal

Gogamedi’s murder has triggered protests across various parts of the State, including Bhopal. Members of Rajput outfits staged demonstrations, blocking district headquarters in Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Shajapur, Rajgarh, Dewas, Dhar, Guna, and Burhanpur on Wednesday.

In Bhopal, members of the Rajput community gathered at Jyoti Talkies Square in MP Nagar, assembling in front of the statue of Maharana Pratap to voice their opposition to the murder.
