Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor steal limelight at 69th Filmfare Awards


The 69th Filmfare Film Awards were announced on Sunday.


Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt stole the spotlight at the 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards, securing top accolades for their outstanding performances in films from the previous year. 


At the event held in Gujarat on Sunday, Ranbir Kapoor was honored as the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for his role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's controversial film "Animal," while Alia Bhatt received the coveted trophy for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for her performance in Karan Johar's romantic family drama "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani."


12th Fail crowned Best Film


Vidhu Vinod Chopra was lauded as the Best Director, and his biographical drama "12th Fail" was crowned Best Film, surpassing strong contenders such as "Animal," Atlee Kumar's "Jawan," Amit Rai's "OMG 2," Siddharth Anand's "Pathaan," and "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani."


In a separate category, Devashish Makhija's thriller "Joram" clinched the Filmfare award for Best Film ('Critics'), while Vikrant Massey (for "12th Fail"), Rani Mukerji (for "Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway"), and Shefali Shah (for "Three Of Us") were honored with the prestigious Black Lady, being named the best actors by the critics.


The title of Best Actor (Supporting Role) has been given to Vicky Kaushal for his performance in the film Dunki. Shabana Azmi has been given the Best Actress (Supporting Role) award for her performance in the film 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'.
