Madhya Pradesh: IIT Indore's Ujjain satellite campus gets in-principle approval; CM Dr. Mohan Yadav's meeting with Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan


Ujjain: IIT Indore’s Ujjain satellite campus has received in-principle consent. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav met Union Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at his residence and discussed in detail various topics related to education and skill development. 


CM Dr. Yadav said that the project for setting up a satellite campus in Ujjain had been prepared by the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore and sent to the Education Ministry for approval in the year 2023.


The Chief Minister said that the Ujjain Satellite Campus is an important project which will benefit the students, teachers and industrial workers of entire India and especially Madhya Pradesh.


Four future skills courses are being run in MP by IIT Delhi


CM Dr Yadav informed Union Minister Pradhan that four future skill courses are being run in Madhya Pradesh by the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. 


The CM informed that Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) courses are being run in Mahila Polytechnic College, Bhopal, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses have been started in Jabalpur Engineering College and Blockchain courses have been launched in Ujjain Engineering College. These courses are being run under the Sankalp Scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. One thousand youth of the state are being trained in each course.


Center of Excellence is being established by IIT Delhi


CM Dr Yadav informed that a Center of Excellence in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality is being established by the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi at the Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park in Bhopal. He informed that it has also been decided to appoint IIT, Delhi as the technical advisor in place of ITE, Singapore in the course to be conducted at Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park.


CM Dr Yadav thanked Union Minister Pradhan for providing support in all these innovations. He invited Pradhan as the chief guest for the launch of these skill upgradation innovations. The Union Minister gladly accepted the invitation.


Memorial of Veer Surendra Sai will be built in Asirgarh Fort


During the meeting, Union Minister Pradhan told CM Dr. Yadav about the great freedom fighter of Odisha, Veer Surendra Sai, who had spent more than 35 years in prison at Asirgarh Fort. CM Dr. Yadav assured the Union Minister that the state government will soon install a statue of freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai in Asirgarh Fort and build a memorial in his honour. CM Dr Yadav said that this memorial will strengthen the cultural ties between Madhya Pradesh and Odisha.
