Strong earthquake jolts Hindukush region of Afghanistan; tremors felt in Pakistan and from J&K to Delhi-NCR


A strong earthquake jolted the Hindukush region of Afghanistan at 2:20 pm on Thursday. Due to this, tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi of Pakistan and from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi-NCR in India.


According to the National Center for Seismology, the intensity of the earthquake was measured at 6.1. Its center was about 220 kilometers below the ground in Hindukush. At present there is no news of any kind of damage.


On November 4, 2023, at 11:32 pm, an earthquake of 6.4 magnitude struck Nepal, killing 157 people. Then apart from Delhi-NCR, tremors were also felt in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Bihar's capital Patna. However, there was no loss of life or property in India.


After this, earthquake tremors were felt once again in Delhi-NCR on 6th November at 4.16 pm. Its center was also in Nepal. The intensity was rated 5.6 on the Richter scale. Due to this, tremors were also felt in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
