(in Pics) Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in MP: Country reeling under highest rate of unemployment in last 40 years: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi resumed his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Dhoplur on Saturday afternoon and later entered Morena district in Madhya Pradesh in the evening. The yatra had taken a break from February 26 to March 1, during which Gandhi delivered two special lectures at Cambridge University, his alma mater, and attended crucial meetings in New Delhi.

The yatra recommenced from Dholpur, marking its entry into Madhya Pradesh. On March 6, the yatra will re-enter Rajasthan as part of its Gujarat leg, with a significant rally planned in the tribal belt of Banswara.

Addressing a public meeting in Morena, Gandhi emphasized that his yatra is dedicated to ensuring economic and social justice for the underprivileged and marginalized citizens. It serves as a direct connection with them and stands as an antidote to the hatred, violence, and fear propagated by the RSS-BJP combine, according to Gandhi.

Claiming that 73% of the country's population, including Other Backward Classes, Dalits, and tribals, lack representation in the government and other sectors, Gandhi advocated for a caste-based census to bring justice to these communities. Such a census, he argued, would ensure their equal participation across various sectors.

Attacking the Modi government for crony capitalism, Gandhi alleged that the BJP government at the Centre had forgiven loans amounting to Rs 16 lakh crore for 10 to 15 industrialists. He further accused the government of denying legally guaranteed Minimum Support Prices (MSP) to farmers during harvesting seasons, manipulating export-import policies to their detriment. Gandhi contended that a small group of capitalists controls 50% of the nation's income.

The Congress leader said the country is reeling under the highest rate of unemployment in the last 40 years which is worse than the situation in neighbouring Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Later in the day on Sunday Rahul will meet Agniveers and ex-servicemen in Gwalior. Rahul will hold lunch and dialogue with tribals in Morkheda. Road show from Shivpuri to Jhansi Road Tiraha from 2 pm. Welcome will be held at Kolaras at 4 pm and Lukwasa at 5 pm. Rahul Gandhi will address the Yatra in Badarwas at 6.30 pm
