Fire in Mahakal Bhasma Aarti: MP CM Mohan Yadav orders probe; President and PM express grief


Fire in Mahakal Bhasma Aarti Ujjain: CM Mohan Yadav reached here after the incident of fire in the sanctum sanctorum during Bhasmarti in Mahakal temple. He had darshan of Mahakal from outside the sanctum sanctorum and discussed with the priests. After this he reached Nandi Hall and paid obeisance to Mahakal.


After coming out of the temple, CM Mohan Yadav said, 'I wish Holi to the people of the state, may it bring happiness and prosperity in everyone's life. The incident that has happened today is very sad, by the grace of Mahakal, no major incident happened but whatever happened, the government decided that there should be a magisterial inquiry into it.


After reaching Ujjain, CM had darshan of Baba at Shri Mahakal Jyotirlinga temple and also inspected the incident site. The priests and others injured in the morning fire in Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Ujjain have been immediately admitted to the District Hospital Ujjain. Their treatment is continuing.


Collector Ujjain Neeraj Kumar Singh reached the district hospital and met the injured and has instructed the hospital management to provide proper treatment. Collector Singh said that the condition of all the injured is normal. It is being ensured that the injured get better treatment.


The Collector has said that the situation is normal, darshan is going on smoothly in Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple as before. He gave instructions to submit investigation report in 3 days


Ujjain Collector Singh has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident of arson in the temple. The entire incident will be investigated by Chief Executive Officer District Panchayat Mrinal Meena and Additional Collector Ujjain Anukul Jain. Collector has instructed the investigation committee to submit its report in 3 days.


Compensation of Rs 1 lakh each to the injured


CM Mohan Yadav said that the government has decided after discussing through the administration at its level that there should be a magisterial inquiry into this matter and a conclusion should be reached as soon as possible. Those who are injured will be given full treatment and all the injured will be given Rs 1 lakh each. 


He further said that I have spoken to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister on phone regarding this incident, they have expressed condolences with the injured. The Prime Minister has said that you should get a complete investigation done and also make arrangements to ensure that such incidents do not happen in future.


President and PM expressed grief 


President Droupadi Murmu said in her social media post that the news of many people getting injured in the accident at Mahakal Temple in Ujjain is extremely sad. I wish speedy recovery to all those injured.


PM Modi also expressed grief and wished speedy recovery to all those injured.
