Gautam Gambhir hints at leaving politics, what did he say?


Former cricketer and BJP MP from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir has indicated to leave politics.


Gambhir has written on X, "I have requested Honorable Party President JP Nadda to relieve me of my political duties so that I can focus on my cricket commitments. I heartily thank Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji.


Along with this, he tagged Union Home Minister Amit Shah and wrote, "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the people. Jai Hind."


Gambhir is currently a Lok Sabha MP from East Delhi on BJP ticket. Gautam Gambhir has been a member of the Indian team in T20 World Cup 2007 and ODI World Cup 2011.


During the last few years, Gambhir has been embroiled in controversies many times for his political comments and on the sports field and beyond.


Gambhir is currently mentor of KKR in IPL


Gautam Gambhir has been a member of the Indian team in T20 World Cup 2007 and ODI World Cup 2011. Gautam Gambhir played match-winning innings for the Indian team in the finals of both the tournaments. Gambhir had scored 75 runs in 54 balls in the T20 World Cup final. At the same time, in the final of the ODI World Cup, 91 runs came from his bat. Gambhir is currently the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL. He has also been the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).


Gambhir played his last Test for India in 2016 against England in Rajkot. He represented the Indian team in 58 Test matches in his international career and scored 4154 runs at an average of 41.95, which included nine centuries.
