Lok Sabha Elections 2024: BJP releases eighth list of candidates, ticket to Amarinder Singh's wife from Patiala, ticket of this film star cancelled


BJP on Saturday released the eighth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections-20624. The party has released the names of candidates for the seats of Punjab, Odisha and West Bengal.


In Punjab, Preneet Kaur, wife of former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, has been fielded from Patiala. Praneet Kaur had won the Lok Sabha elections from this seat in 2019 as a Congress candidate.


After resigning from the post of Chief Minister of Punjab, Amarinder Singh joined BJP. Preneet Kaur was suspended from the party in February last year on charges of party activities. After this she also joined BJP.


BJP has fielded Dinesh Singh Babbu from Gurdaspur by canceling the ticket of film star Sunny Deol. The party has fielded Taranjit Singh Sandhu from Amritsar, Sushil Kumar Rinku from Jalandhar, Ravneet Singh Bittu from Ludhiana and Hansraj Hans from Faridkot.


Sandhu, the party's candidate from Amritsar, has been India's ambassador to America.


On his candidacy he said, “My objective is clear. We have to work for Amritsar. We will also focus on increasing agricultural and industrial production.


In Odisha, tickets have been given to Narayan Behera from Jajpur seat, Sukant Kumar Panigrahi from Kandhamal and Bhartrihari Mahtab from Cuttack. In West Bengal, Debashish Dhar has been fielded from Birbhum and Pranat Tudu has been fielded from Jhargram.
