Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The Election Commission of India has announced the dates for the Lok Sabha elections-2024. Lok Sabha elections will be held in 7 phases across the country.
Elections will be held in Madhya Pradesh in total 4 phases. Voting for the first phase will be held on April 19.
Voting will take place in Madhya Pradesh in the first phase itself. That means voting in Madhya Pradesh will start from April 19 itself. After this, voting on more will take place in the next three phases. There are a total of 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh for which voting will be divided into four phases.
Votes will be cast in Bhopal on May 7 and in Indore on May 13. Check the full schedule below.
When will voting take place in MP?
April 19- Voting will be held on 6 seats. Among these, voting will be held in Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat and Chhindwara seats.
Notification for the first phase will be released on March 20. Nomination papers will be filed from this day itself. The last date for filing nomination papers is March 27. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on March 28. Candidates will be able to withdraw their names till March 30. Voting will take place on April 19.
April 26- Elections will be held on 7 seats. Among these, voting will be held in Tikamgarh, Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, Hoshangabad and Betul Lok Sabha seats.
Notification for this phase will be released on March 28. Nomination papers will be filed from this day itself. The last date for filing nomination papers is April 4. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on April 5. Candidates will be able to withdraw their names till April 8. Voting will take place on April 26.
May 7- Voting will be held on 8 seats in the third phase on May 7. Among these, voting will be held on the seats of Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Bhopal, Rajgarh.
Notification for this phase will be released on April 12. Candidates will be able to submit nomination papers till 19th April. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on 20th April. Candidates will be able to withdraw their names till 22 April. Voting will take place on May 7.
May 13- In the fourth phase, voting will be held on 13 May on a total of 8 seats including Dewas, Ujjain, Indore, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dhar, Khargone and Khandwa.
Notification for this phase will be released on April 18. Candidates will be able to submit nomination papers till 25th April. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on 26th April. Candidates will be able to withdraw their names till 29th April. Voting will take place on May 13.
State level media certification and monitoring committee starts monitoring
Chief Electoral Officer of Madhya Pradesh Anupam Rajan has said said that with the announcement of the Lok Sabha election schedule, the State Level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (State Level MCMC) will keep a 24-hour watch. The watcyh will be maintained by a team of public relations officers to monitor the advertisements and news broadcast on the news channels.
Under the Madhya Pradesh Property Defacement Act, instructions have been given to take action within the prescribed limits to remove unauthorized defacement on government/public/private property. Teams have been formed and strict vigil is being maintained on the transportation of illicit liquor, cash and narcotics at interstate checkpoints.
Citizens will be able to complain about violation of code of conduct through C-Vigil app.
Eligible citizens will still be able to get their names added to the voter list
Rajan said that eligible citizens can still get their names added to the voter list. Applications for adding names to the voter list will be accepted till 10 days before the last date for filing nomination papers. By following the prescribed procedure, eligible citizens will be able to get their names added as voters in the voter list.
