What Rahul Gandhi said on as Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra reaches Dharavi, Mumbai

The 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra', started under the leadership of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, reached Dharavi on Saturday (16 March). This yatra, which started from Manipur, reached Dharavi in Mumbai.

The Congress leader addressed the Dharavi dwellers at the conclusion of the yatra.

He said, "In the last (Bharat Jodo) yatra, we opened a 'shop of love in the market of hatred'. People told me that I walked four thousand kilometers but we did not cover many areas like Assam, Bihar. People told me that we should start another yatra. We started our second yatra from Manipur and concluded in Mumbai."

Rahul Gandhi said, "This yatra has concluded not in Mumbai but in Dharavi. This Dharavi is the capital of India's skills, which we call skill, which is called talent, which is called 'Jugaad'. The fight is between skill and brokers. Between skill and (Gautam) Adani. That's why I have added the word nyay (justice) justice in the yatra (journey).

Rahul said, "Dharavi is yours and should remain yours. Your skills should be honoured and this place should become a manufacturing hub of the country," he said, referring to the redevelopment project concerning the slum sprawl awarded to the Adani Group.

The fight for justice has begun

Gandhi said, "Today is the end of Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra - but this is not the end, it is the beginning of the fight for justice! During the Yatra, I came to know and understand very closely the terrible injustice and oppression being faced by every section of the society. I wish to express my gratitude to my countrymen."

Rahul said, "I am taking with me the small dreams hidden in the hopeful eyes of many people. This journey strengthened my belief that the first need of the country is justice and the 5 justices of Congress dedicated to every section are the lifeline of India going through the crisis."

'Congress workers, don't sit quietly'

Rahul Gandhi said that today the election bugle has been sounded. He urged party workers to work to uproot the government, which has become synonymous with injustice.

We will contest elections on grassroots issues related to people's lives. Our election campaign will also be dedicated to guaranteeing employment to the youth, rights to women, fair prices to farmers, respect to workers and share to the deprived, said Rahul.

The yatra, which commenced from strife-torn Manipur on January 14, entered Mumbai from neighbouring Thane on the 63rd day on Saturday.

Nyay Sankalp Padyatra

Gandhi will undertake a 'Nyay Sankalp Padyatra' from Mani Bhavan to August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai on Sunday morning.

On Sunday, the opposition INDIA bloc will hold a rally in a show of strength. Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and SP chief Akhilesh are scheduled to take part in the event.
