What Ujjwal Nikam Said on Nomination as Candidate from Mumbai North Central?


In Lok Sabha Election-2024, Bharatiya Janata Party has made advocate Ujjwal Nikam its candidate from North Central seat of Mumbai, Maharashtra.


Ujjwal Nikam was the government lawyer in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks case.


Famous advocate Ujjwal Nikam was also a part of the prosecution team in the 1993 serial bomb blast case.


Apart from this, he was also part of the prosecution in the Gushlan Kumar murder case.


Nikam replaces Poonam Mahajan


Nikam replaces Poonam Mahajan, the current MP from this seat, as the party's candidate.  Till now Poonam Mahajan has not been given ticket from any other seat.


Nikam was also the prosecutor in the murder case of Pramod Mahajan, the father of Poonam Mahajan, who was shot dead by his brother Pravin in April 2006 following a dispute.


Poonam Mahajan was elected from the constituency in 2014 and 2019. She is also a former president of the BJP's youth wing.


Ujjwal Nikam, who has fought many big cases at the state and national level, was trying to enter politics in recent months.


Ujjwal Nikam is a resident of Jalgaon district of North Maharashtra. He is known as the Special Public Prosecutor in the state and the country.


Ujjwal Nikam started his career as a lawyer in Jalgaon district court. Later he worked as a government lawyer in the same court.


What Ujjwal said?


On being nominated, Ujjwal has said that do not ask me indirect questions because I am new in politics. My tongue is very bitter, you will know.


'I know politics is not for me,' he said.
