Lok Sabha Election-2024: Why Rajnath Singh made mention of Dinosaur and Bigg Boss in election rally in Uttarakhand?

Gauchar (Chamoli): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday claimed that Congress will become extinct like dinosaurs in a few years. He compared the internal conflict going on within the party to the television reality show 'Bigg Boss'. Singh said this in an election meeting in Gauchar, Chamoli.

“The exit of leaders from Congress continues. One leader after another is leaving the party and joining BJP. I fear that in a few years from now Congress may become extinct like the dinosaurs.”

Addressing a public meeting in favor of BJP candidate Anil Baluni from Uttarakhand's Pauri Lok Sabha seat before the voting on April 19, Singh said, "I fear that after a few years from now, Congress may become extinct like dinosaurs. In a few years after 2024, if we take the name of Congress, children will ask who?”

Voting is to be held on 5 Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand in the first phase of voting on April 19. This time's election is going to be special in many ways. BJP's national media head Anil Baluni is contesting for Garhwal Lok Sabha seat. He has been given the ticket in place of former Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat. Former state president Ganesh Godiyal from Congress is in the fray.

Rajnath Singh also commented on the ongoing factionalism within the opposition party, saying, “They (Congress leaders) are fighting with each other every day. The party has become like Bigg Boss house on television. Every day they are tearing each other's clothes."

The Defense Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has emerged as a strong country; its voice is heard clearly in international forums and is taken seriously.

Rajnath Singh claimed that Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Zelensky and US President Joe Biden to safely evacuate 22,500 Indian students stranded in Ukraine, following which the Russia-Ukraine war was stopped for more than four hours. Singh said that the world has recognized the progress made by India in the last few years. In this regard, he quoted US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti in which he had said that if the world wants to see the future, it will have to come to India.

The Defense Minister said, “Now we are making most of the defense equipment in the country itself. Earlier we used to export only equipment worth Rs 600 crore but in the last seven years alone we are exporting defense equipment worth more than Rs 21000 crore. India is no longer an ordinary country.”

Singh said that BJP is a party that does what it says. He said that the party has implemented its manifesto in letter and spirit.

He said, “We had said that we will remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, we removed it. We said that we will bring the Citizenship Amendment Act, we did that. We were saying since 1984 that we will build a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya and we did that too.”

He said that on the contrary, parties like Congress have been making false promises to the people. He said that if Congress had fulfilled even 50 percent of the promises made in his manifesto, India would have become a developed country by now.
