Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the BJP MP representing Kaiserganj, UP, has explained why there is a delay in announcing a candidate on this seat for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections-2024.
According to Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party doesn't perceive any significant challenge in Kaiserganj. He emphasized, "We haven't announced a candidate yet. But the BJP faces no formidable challenge in the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha constituency. Our victory margin last time was a staggering 2 lakh 87 thousand, and this time our workers are rallying for an even more resounding victory with a 5 lakh margin."
Responding to queries about his potential candidacy, Singh expresses confidence, stating, "If it's in God's plan, then so be it, but I am strong contender. I am almost certain to contest, with only a mere 0.1 percent uncertainty."
Addressing the delay in ticket finalization, he attributed it to the opposition's failure to announce their candidate. Singh said Kaiserganj belongs to the BJP. He asserted, "As soon as the opposition reveals their candidate, we'll swiftly follow suit. The BJP firmly believes that Kaiserganj is its stronghold. The candidate will be declared imminently, and Kaiserganj will unequivocally vote for Modi ji."
Singh confirmed that his ticket hasn't been cut, reassuring, "Modi ji need not worry about Kaiserganj. The BJP has not cut my ticket."
Singh garnered attention last year amidst allegations of sexual exploitation by several prominent woman wrestlers, leading to protests demanding his arrest. Previously serving as the President of the Wrestling Federation of India, Singh eventually stepped down from his position. With the BJP delaying the announcement of a candidate for his Lok Sabha seat, speculation regarding his candidacy intensifies.
