Lok Sabha Elections-2024: Why is Vasundhara Raje missing from campaign trail in Rajasthan? Will it harm CM Bhajan Lal? How results will be affected?

Lok Sabha Elections-2024: Former CM of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, has distanced herself from the Lok Sabha elections in the state this time. Although she's on the roster of star campaigners, Raje is focusing her efforts solely on Jhalawar. This decision comes as her son, Dushyant Singh, is contesting from that constituency. In this scenario, political analysts are drawing different interpretations of Raje's distance.

According to certain political observers, Raje's absence from the campaign could potentially bolster CM Bhajan Lal Sharma's position. Conversely, there's speculation that the BJP may face challenges in sustaining its winning streak in Rajasthan, potentially endangering Bhajan Lal Sharma's leadership. This scenario could benefit Vasundhara Raje.

Moreover, political analysts indicate that achieving a significant victory for the BJP in Rajasthan this time around might be challenging, particularly with Congress allocating three seats to the INDIA alliance. It's anticipated that BJP could see a loss of control over 6-7 seats.

BJP's star campaigners have put in full effort

It is noteworthy that the first phase of voting in Rajasthan is scheduled for April 19. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, along with many central ministers, have been campaigning extensively in Rajasthan. The state CM Bhajan Lal Sharma and both deputy CMs are also actively campaigning on all seats. However, Vasundhara Raje is absent.

Political analysts say that she hasn't shown the same enthusiasm in Lok Sabha campaign as she did during the state assembly elections last year. There's a buzz in political circles about where former CM Vasundhara Raje is. Several reasons are being speculated behind this. Some sources even hint at Vasundhara's dissatisfaction as a potential factor.

Raje not seen in PM's programs

Prime Minister Modi has conducted five election rallies and one road show in the state so far. However, Raje has not been seen in any of the PM's electoral programs. Although, on April 6, Vasundhara Raje was present at the BJP headquarters in Delhi on the occasion of BJP's foundation day. During this time, she also met senior BJP leaders. But after the halt in the first phase of campaigning in the state, there's a resounding question in the political corridors of the state: why is Raje distant from the campaign? Is she only focusing on her son's seat?
