Rajasthan Lok Sabha Election-2024: Political Stakes High for These Key Figures



Rajasthan Lok Sabha Election-2024: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, former Chief Ministers Ashok Gehlot and Vasundhara Raje, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Kailash Choudhary, along with several other prominent leaders, face a crucial test as Rajasthan gears up for the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections-2024. 


Thirteen Lok Sabha constituencies in the state will be in focus on Friday, with the political futures of figures such as BJP state president and MP CP Joshi and former Assembly Speaker Dr CP Joshi hanging in the balance.


In the upcoming election, Birla is vying for the third time as a BJP candidate from Kota. His main contender is former MLA Prahlad Gunjal, who has switched allegiance from BJP to Congress. 


Meanwhile, in Jalore, Ashok Gehlot's son, Vaibhav Gehlot, is contesting as a Congress candidate against BJP's Lumbaram Chaudhary.


Shekhawat vying for his third consecutive term in Jodhpur


Gajendra Singh Shekhawat is vying for his third consecutive term in Jodhpur, facing off against Congress candidate Karni Singh Uchiyarda. Similarly, Kailash Chaudhary is trying his luck for the second time in the election field from Barmer where his contest is being considered in a triangular situation with Congress candidate Ummedaram Beniwal and independent candidate and MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati.


CP Joshi is seeking re-election


BJP state president CP Joshi is seeking re-election for the third time in Chittorgarh, directly challenged by former minister Udaylal Anjana of the Congress. The political credibility of both leaders hangs in the balance.


Dushyant Singh faces Cong's Urmila


Similarly, Dushyant Singh, son of Vasundhara Raje, a prominent figure in Jhalawar politics for the past 35 years, is seeking re-election from the Jhalawar-Baran parliamentary constituency. This marks his fifth consecutive attempt, with his primary opposition being his longtime rival, Congress candidate Urmila Jain Bhaya. 


The outcome of these contests holds significant weight, impacting the political standing of leaders like  Gehlot and Vasundhara Raje.


BJP state president CP Joshi is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Chittorgarh for the third time in a row where he is in direct competition with Congress candidate and former minister Udaylal Anjana and the political credibility of both the leaders is at stake.


Former Assembly Speaker Dr CP Joshi is trying his electoral luck as a Congress candidate from Bhilwara where he is facing BJP's General Secretary and candidate Damodar Agarwal and the political credibility of both the leaders is at stake.
