Why 'Boycott Bollywood' has started trending on Twitter

After many Bollywood celebrities shared the poster of 'All Eyes on Rafah' on social media, 'Boycott Bollywood' started trending on Twitter.

On Sunday, Israel conducted an airstrike on a refugee camp in Rafah, resulting in the loss of 45 lives. In response, calls for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza emerged globally.

Subsequently, a significant number of individuals shared the 'All Eyes on Rafah' poster on various social media platforms, with several Bollywood actors joining in the initiative.

Actress Alia Bhatt wrote 'Hashtag All Eyes on Rafah' along with a picture in her Instagram story.

The poster she shared read - All children deserve love, peace, security and all mothers have the right to give all this to their children.

Actress Kareena Kapoor shared a post of UNICEF.

The post reads, "The bombing of the tents of displaced people in Rafah, the pictures of burnt children and families have shocked everyone."

UNICEF has demanded an immediate ceasefire in this post. The actress is also the brand ambassador of UNICEF India.

Israel is massacring the people of Gaza: Richa

Richa Chadha writes on X, "Israel is massacring the people of Gaza who are hungry and trapped. It is killing children, women, pregnant women, innocent civilians, journalists and doctors. This is genocide, there is no other word for it and it must be condemned. If the world just keeps watching, then it is a party to it."

Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Tripti Dimri, Sonakshi Sinha, Bhumi Pednekar, Rashmika Mandana, Swara Bhaskar and many other celebrities have shared a poster with 'All Eyes on Rafah'.

Celebrities like Varun Dhawan, Sonam Kapoor, Honey Singh, and Madhuri Dixit Nene expressed solidarity with Gaza on social media.

Following the posts by Bollywood celebrities advocating to halt the attacks in Rafah, the hashtag 'Boycott Bollywood' began trending on Instagram. Supporters of this trend are expressing their concerns about not witnessing the violence perpetrated by Hamas.

Reacting to this trend, actress Pooja Bhatt's tweet has come. She posted a screenshot of the 'Boycott Bollywood' trend and wrote on Instagram that this is happening once again. Bollywood is paying the price for speaking collectively against the violence in Palestine.

Rohit Sharma's wife also shared the picture

According to media reports, Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh also shared the picture of 'All Eyes on Rafah' and later deleted that story.

Later, Rohit Sharma started trending on Twitter and many people wrote that Ritika Sajdeh will ruin Rohit Sharma's career while some people also came in his support.

Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal's wife Dhanashree Verma also posted a picture of 'All Eyes on Rafah' in her Insta story.

The Israeli Embassy in India has also reacted to this. The Embassy has written that those running this campaign do not see the Israeli hostages held captive by Hamas.
