Karnataka JD(S) MLA HD Revanna has been detained by the Special Investigation Team probing kidnapping accusations by a woman and investigating rape allegations against his son, Prajwal Revanna, in the case involving obscene videos.
The woman, who filed a kidnapping complaint against HD Revanna and his associate Satish, has been located by the Karnataka Police and is scheduled to provide her statement to the special investigation team. Prajwal Revanna, the MLA's son, is implicated in sexual assault cases.
The woman had previously worked at the Revannas' residence for nearly five years before leaving her job three years ago. Her son claimed that she was taken by Satish on April 26, an aide of HD Revanna, and later by HD Revanna's associate on April 29. She had been missing since then.
The special public prosecutor (SPP) expressed concerns about the circumstances surrounding the woman's alleged abduction and highlighted the need to understand the broader context of the situation. He suggested possible attempts to prevent her from filing a complaint.

The Karnataka SIT, investigating the allegations of sexual assault against Prajwal Revanna, has issued a lookout notice against his father. Obscene videos purportedly involving Prajwal Revanna circulated in Hassan, where he is the NDA Lok Sabha candidate.
Prajwal Revanna reportedly traveled abroad on April 27, following the initial phase of Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka. His legal representative requested a seven-day extension for him to appear before the SIT.
The Karnataka government has enlisted the CBI's assistance in locating Prajwal Revanna regarding allegations of rape and blackmail using videos. He is the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.
An FIR was lodged against Prajwal Revanna by the CID after a JD(S) worker claimed she was sexually assaulted at gunpoint.
The woman was rescued from a farmhouse in Kalenahalli village, Mysuru district, belonging to Rajashekar, HD Revanna's aide. Rajashekar, who is reportedly evading authorities, will be pursued for questioning.
The woman, found locked in the farmhouse following a tip-off received by SIT officers, will be brought to Bengaluru for recording of her statement.
