Cricket: What did Gautam Gambhir say about coaching Team India

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has said that he would be happy to become the coach of Team India.

Gautam Gambhir said this while participating in an event in Abu Dhabi.

When asked about the possibility of coaching the Indian team, Gautam Gambhir expressed his interest by stating, "I have been asked this question by many people recently. It would bring me great joy to become the coach of Team India. There is no greater honor than coaching the Indian team."

"When you represent India, you are leading 140 crore Indians at the global level. What can be bigger than this," he added.

Gautam Gambhir emphasized, "I alone cannot lead India to victory in the World Cup. It is the collective support of 1.4 billion Indians that will propel India to win the World Cup. Playing fearlessly is crucial."

The Indian men's cricket team is looking for a new coach.

The tenure of the current coach Rahul Dravid is ending after the T20 World Cup being played this month.

Gautam Gambhir is being considered a contender for the next coach.

After Gautam Gambhir became the mentor, KKR has managed to win the IPL title this year.

Recently, former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly supported Gambhir's claim for the coach's post.

“If he has applied, Gambhir will be a good coach,” Ganguly told reporters at an event in Kolkata. Gambhir has recently helped KKR win their third Indian Premier League trophy after 10 years.

The next head coach will begin his tenure soon after the T20 World Cup in the USA and Caribbean next month. The incumbent Rahul Dravid, whose tenure began in December 2021, has decided against seeking an extension.
