Rajgarh MP Accident: 13 of marriage party die as tractor trolley overturns; victims belong to Rajasthan


As many as 13 people tragically lost their lives in a road accident in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday evening. The accident occurred between 8 and 9 pm. Preliminary reports indicate that around 30 members of a marriage party were traveling in a tractor trolley from Motipura village in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan to Kulampura village in Rajgarh district. 


The tractor trolley overturned near Piplodi Chowki. Sadly, 13 people, including four children, lost their lives due to being crushed under the trolley. The injured are currently receiving treatment at the district hospital, with the collector and SP present at the scene.


Number of casualties from the accident may rise


Rajgarh SDM Gulab Singh Baghel reported that they are currently at the hospital on the scene. Two people in critical condition have been referred for further treatment, while the others are receiving medical care at the hospital. An investigation is underway, and based on eyewitness accounts, there is a possibility that the number of casualties from the accident may rise.


Local people came to help


Following the accident, local residents rushed to provide assistance. Rajesh Tanwar, the Sarpanch representative of village Kasi near the accident site, recounted that upon hearing the commotion after the accident, they quickly responded to help. With around 25-30 people in the trolley, all were trapped inside. Despite their efforts, they were unable to rescue the trapped individuals. 


Subsequently, with the support of the authorities, a JCB was brought in to lift the trolley, enabling the people to be rescued. More than ten people are feared to have lost their lives, with many sustaining serious injuries. The death toll is anticipated to rise, and the injured were promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention.


15 people injured, two critical


Rajgarh Collector Harsh Dixit said that members of marriage party were coming to Rajgarh district from Rajasthan in a tractor-trolley. The tractor overturned near the Piplodi Chowki. So far, the death of 13 people has been confirmed. 15 people are injured, who are being treated in the district hospital. Two people were in critical condition, who have been referred to Bhopal after first aid. 


After the accident, the administration took some of the injured to the hospital by ambulance and some by tractor-trolley.


State Minister also reached District Hospital


Upon learning of the accident, State Minister for Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Department of the Madhya Pradesh Government, Narayan Singh Panwar, promptly arrived at the district hospital. He visited the injured individuals, gathered information about the accident, and provided instructions to the Collector and SP concerning the treatment of the injured.


CM took cognizance of the accident


CM Mohan Yadav has expressed his grief over the Rajgarh accident. He posted on social media and wrote that the news of untimely death of 13 people of Jhalawar district of Rajasthan due to overturning of tractor trolley on Piplodi Road in Rajgarh district is very sad. Collector and SP Rajgarh including cabinet colleague Narayan Singh Panwar are present on the spot. We are in touch with the Rajasthan government and Rajasthan Police has also reached the spot. CM said treatment of the injured is going on in District Hospital, Rajgarh. Also, some seriously injured patients have been referred to Bhopal.
